About Us

Before there were mugs, there were rugs—painted by hand, rich with color, geometry, and intention. That was Maude Décor, where founder Patricia Baun began exploring how art could step off gallery walls and become something lived with, not just looked at. Her hand-painted rugs were bold and beautiful—celebrated in Architectural Digest, Dwell, and The New York Times.

But they were also painstaking to create. Each piece required hours of focus and craft, making them out of reach for many who loved them.

That reality sparked a new idea: what if art could still carry the same soul and meet people where they live—every single day?

That’s how Maude Mugs was born.

By embracing modern print-on-demand technology, we’ve made it possible to bring contemporary design into everyday life—without the traditional costs or waste of production. It allows us to keep prices accessible, reduce our environmental footprint, and still create limited edition collections that feel personal, intentional, and artful.

Each mug is a small act of unsealing—of revealing the uniqueness that hides in the ordinary.

Art doesn’t have to be rare or untouchable.

About the Mugs

Q: What are they made of?

A: Ceramic, glazed, and made to be used. They hold warmth well, and they don't mind the microwave or dishwasher. Still, a soft cloth and a gentle wash will keep them looking their best.

Q: How big are they?

A: Big enough for a proper cup of coffee or tea. 11, 15 and 20 ounce options. 

Q: Can I request a custom design?

A: Absolutely, if you have something  in mind, a special occasion, a unique design theme or a special person with a quirky interest, reach out and we will do our best to accommodate you.

 

Shipping & Waiting

Q: Where do you send them?

A: Worldwide, but mostly across Canada and the U.S.

Q: How long will it take?

A: A few days to make and pack, then a week or so on the road. Sometimes faster, sometimes slower. You’ll get a tracking link once it's on its way.

Q: What about customs or extra fees?

A: Each mug is made and shipped from the printing facility closest to you, so most orders stay local. Every now and then, a mug crosses a border on its way, and that can mean an import fee or tariff. It's a new reality of how trade works - something that didn't used to touch small things like mugs. If it happens, the charge comes from your country, not from us, but we understand it's never a welcome surprise.

 

If Something Goes Wrong

Q: What if my mug shows up broken?

A: Send a photo and your order number. We'll replace it or refund you - whichever feels right.

Q: Can I return it if I just change my mind?

A: Mugs don't travel lightly, and returns can be rough on them. Still, if your orders hasn't been used and you'd like to talk about returning it, send us a message. We'll see what we can do.
